Will Dancing With The Stars pros Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy encourage their son to dance?

Both Jenna and Val are phenomenal, award-winning dancers in their own right. But do they want their son to follow in their footsteps? After a recent interview, it seems like the couple is actually split on the issue.

See what the couple had to say after surviving another episode of Dancing With The Stars.

Jenna Johnson & Val Chmerkovskiy are divided over their son’s future

Many of the pros on DWTS are parents. Most of them have very young children and babies, so it’s not immediately clear if the next generation will be dancers or not.

And when it comes to Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy, they can’t quite agree on their son’s future in dance.

Rome Valentin Chmerkovskiy was born on January 10, 2023. Right now, he’s just shy of nine months old. While his parents contemplate his future, he’s making friends with the other babies on set. Daniella Karagach‘s daughter Nikita is just a few months younger than he is.

As for Jenna, she doesn’t really want to put any pressure on Rome to become a dancer.

“I don’t know [if we’re going to put him in dance classes],” Jenna confessed to Us Weekly after Latin Night concluded. “Val says yes. I’m a little bit indifferent.”

The 29-year-old admitted she’s been dancing since she was 3 years old but really just wants baby Rome to find his own passions.

“If he loves [dance], I’ll support it, of course,” Jenna continued. “But I don’t want him to feel pressured just to do it because mom and dad do it.”

The pair still have plenty of time to consider the options, however. Rome is still very little. For the time being, he’s just excited to visit his parents on the set of DWTS.

Val Chmerkovskiy is ecstatic to be a father

While Val Chmerkovskiy would love to see his baby in dance, he’s honestly just excited about fatherhood.

“[Fatherhood] gives it more purpose,” Val told Us Weekly. “Even this process makes me even more happy because I get to now share it with him. Even though he might not remember a lot of it, the fact that we get to bring him on set, the fact that he gets to see his dad work hard, sweat, try do things that are fun and impressive … it gives you a reason to want to work hard.”

Do you think Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy should put their son in dance? Can they come to an agreement about the little boy? Share what you think in the comments.
