Lala Kent Hints At Difficult ‘VPR’ Season After Scandal

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill did more than set the standard for reality television at Bravo, it also created the spin-off Vanderpump Rules. Since 2013, fans of the series watched as Lisa Vanderpump sought to manage a string of bars and restaurants in West Hollywood, California. With the stars out and drama at an all-time high, the show continues to entertain after 10 seasons and over 200 episodes. Recently, star Lala Kent discussed what it was like filming season 11 after season 10 ended with a bombshell cheating scandal.

After an explosive season finale and a three-part reunion, many fans believed the show might not continue as tensions boiled over. For those needing a refresher, Tom Sandoval and co-star girlfriend, Ariana Madix, shared nine years together. With love in the air, reality crashed the party when Madix revealed Sandoval and Raquel Leviss were having an affair. Being part of the original cast, the fallout of the affair caused Sandoval a great deal of backlash. Not so much for Madix, who is currently on Dancing with the Stars.

Tom Sandoval Talks Backlash After Scandal

While hosting his podcast, Everybody Loves Tom, Tom Sandoval explained how he fought with thoughts of suicide. He recalled meeting Chester Bennington of Linkin Park days before his passing. “I could never understand why, but when you get into that headspace, it’s like a domino effect. Your world starts collapsing on itself and you cannot see outside of your feelings. Your peripheral goes away.” He concluded, “Your sense of like, thinking about the future, like your ability to snap out of it goes away. And there were some times where I was, you know, felt very, very close.”

Lala Kent Doesn’t Care For The Drama

As for Lala Kent, she appears focused on healing from the “divide” amongst the group. When filming the new season, she said, “I think it’s gonna be really hard for me to watch this season, because I’m in a very different place. It’s the first season that I felt a little bit numb, and a little checked out.“ She added, “I don’t remember much about the season. I was just very in my own zone this season, which is very different from last year. I was ripping everyone’s heads off.”

Although part of a reality show, Lala Kent isn’t a fan of the drama or outlets reporting on it. She expressed her opinion online, writing, “I’m not saying don’t write about pettiness — we all love to talk about those things. Take my name out of it: I just want light to be shed on the things that I have my hands in, to truly make a difference in some small way. I remember from a very early age, I said that I wanted to grow up and make a difference in this world. What good is my platform if it’s not used to do just that?”
