Trace Bates’ Petition To Joe Biden Becomes Urgent
Trace Bates started a petition to President Joe Biden so his wife, Lydia Romeike, his son, and her family can remain in the USA, but it has become urgent now. They only have until October 11. So, how is their petition doing? And, will it make any difference? Read on to find out what UPtv fans think.
Trace Bates & Lydia Seem Desperate After Birth Of Their Son
Bringing Up Bates fans loved it when Trace finally settled down with Lydia. They married in October last year, in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Later, they went off to Hawaii for a romantic honeymoon. Of course, the UPtv show Bringing Up Bates had been canceled by then, so it didn’t air as a special. However, many people still follow the Bates family on social media.
Trace Bates and Lydia soon worked on making a baby. There was joy in the land when they announced Lydia’s pregnancy. Previously, they had talked about planning a family, and their son, Ryker arrived safely on September 12. The next news wasn’t so joyful because they now face the deportation of all of Lydia’s family.

Trace Bates Starts A Petition To Joe Biden
Lydia Romeike is at risk of being deported because her family came from Germany. It’s not clear if any exemption will be made for Lydia who birthed her son to an American citizen in the USA. However, ICE wants them gone. The family came in 15 years ago. Unable to homeschool in Germany, they claimed entry via “religious persecution.” That ended up being overturned.
Out of the blue in September, the family was notified to get their passports and get ready to go home. Apparently, it’s because the youngest child in Lydia’s family turns 18. ICE let them stay until now, but with the kids grown, there’s no reason for them to remain. According to his Petition, the Bringing Up Bates alum claims “Germany’s opposition to homeschooling has only increased in the last 10 years, making criminal charges against this family all but certain upon their return.”
Bringing Up Bates Critics Are Not Sympathetic
Trace Bates also said in his petition:
President Biden and his administration have the authority to direct the Office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to reinstate the Romeikes’ deferred status and save them from deportation. Together, we can ask the Biden administration to do just that.”
On Reddit, little sympathy goes the way of the Bringing Up Bates alum. One critic snarked, “…The same President Biden that Lydia’s husband Trace 🤡 was protesting as falsely elected on January 6th at the Ellipse?? That Biden?”
Another member of the community said, “Their attorney is hard at work somewhere trying to find a federal statute that supports public petitions as an exception to grounds for removal 🤣.”
Here’s another person who doesn’t care: “Who’s gonna tell them that getting people to sign a petition doesn’t always work 99.9% of the time? They could get a million signatures and it likely wouldn’t change a thing,” They suggested that the Bringing Up Bates family all go to Germany.
Do you think that there is any chance that the Biden Administration will consider the petition for Lydia Romeike’s family to stay in the USA? Will Trace Bates have to move to Germany if he wants to stay with his family? Only 53 thousand people signed it so far, but is that enough support?
