‘Deadliest Catch’: Is This The End Of The F/V Time Bandit?
On Tuesday, it was the penultimate episode of the Deadliest Catch Season 19. The episode was entitled “The Last Stand Of John Hillstrand.” Why are fans of the Discovery series now concerned that the F/V Time Bandit is up for sale and the Hillstrands are done?
Here is what we know now.
Fans Wonder If Deadliest Catch Boat F/V Time Bandit Is Done
On Wednesday, hours after the most recent Deadliest Catch episode, “The Last Stand Of John Hillstrand” aired, fans were on social media pondering whether Captain Johnathan Hillstrand is done fishing. On Reddit, one fan shared their concern.
After this latest episode, Time Bandit is out again from DC and not to be dark or anything, but anything, but they treat Jonathan like he is dead or something, with highlight wheels.
Positive about it, if a new season comes around, one less boat on the show, which means more air time for others, unless DC decides to add even more boats.
This fan shared some concerns about this episode. The end of the episode showed a highlight reel of essentially the best of John.
This season was quite a surprise as Captain Andy Hillstrand returned after being gone from the Discovery series for nearly a decade. The Captain Andy and Captain John reunion was very entertaining, with a lot of classic F/V Time Bandit shenanigans happening.
However, this social media poster may be right. This may be the end. But, neither Discovery nor Johnathan made a formal statement. Captain Andy’s return was so special, that it would make sense he returned for a last season to fish with his older brother.
Captain Johnathan Took Time Off Recently
Just a few years ago, Captain Johnathan Hillstrand took a few years off from the series, although he was out fishing with the F/V Time Bandit. This was before Covid. Captain John shared videos of himself fishing.
There were even plans for a return to Discovery a few years back, but the engine blew up and that sort of ended this reunion. But, he eventually came back for both the OG and Bloodline with the former F/V Cornelia Marie captains.
But, somewhere in there, he did mention that he wanted to reach a personal milestone before retiring. He may have achieved that now and is planning to do other things in life. However, nothing has been confirmed by anyone.
The F/V Time Bandit Has Been A Fan Favorite
No matter which Hillstrand is at the F/V Time Bandit helm, this is a fan-favorite crew. Fans may have a favorite moment from this team. Please share in the comments below.
