Lamar Odom Involved In Late Night Car Crash
Former NBA star Lamar Odom damaged his Mercedes-Benz in a late-night car crash that luckily did not involve any serious injuries.
Usually when the words “late night” and “car crash” appear together in a sentence, the outcome is potentially life-threatening. Luckily for Lamar Odom, his outcome was nothing more than an expensive life lesson.
As first reported by TMZ, the former NBA player and ex-husband of Khloe Kardashian crashed his white Mercedes-Benz in the early morning hours back on Monday. The crash occurred in a quiet residential neighborhood near Odom’s Los Angeles Home. According to a source close to Odom, he was behind the wheel when he dropped his cell phone onto the floor of his car. Odom then reached down to retrieve his fallen phone and briefly lost control of his car. Odom’s vehicle then struck a parked car along the street, which then bumped into another car parked in front of it.

Thankfully Odom managed to escape the car crash without any injuries. Sources say that despite the fact that Odom’s airbags deployed, the former Los Angeles Lakers player only complained of feeling a little shaken up. After LAPD arrived on the scene, police determined the crash to be a simple accident and did not conduct a sobriety test. Odom then exchanged insurance information with the owners of the other two cars before being taken home by a driver.
What Lamar Odom Has Been Up To Since His Kardashian Days
Besides his playing days in the NBA, Lamar Odom is perhaps best known as the former husband of Khloe Kardashian. The couple were officially married from 2009 to 2016, marrying just one month after first dating. Odom was often a featured cast mate on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Since his split with Khloe Kardashian, Odom has made appearances on TV shows such as Dancing With The Stars, Celebrity Big Brother, and College Hill: Celebrity Edition.

On October 13, 2015, Odom was hospitalized after being found unconscious at a brothel in Nevada. He was reportedly on a drug-fueled bender prior to his hospitalization. After a lengthy hospital stay, Odom eventually made a full recovery. Since then, Odom has been outspoken about his struggles with cocaine addiction and his lengthy battle through recovery. Earlier this year, Odom opened up three new rehab centers in San Diego County called the Odom Wellness Treatment Centers.
Lamar Odom’s Unfortunate History With Car Crashes
Prior to his own brush with death in 2015, Odom was involved in a horrific 2011 car crash that left one victim dead. Odom was a passenger inside a Cadillac Escalade when the SUV collided with a motorcycle. A 15-year-old pedestrian who was struck by the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries. Although Odom was not personally responsible for the accident, the death of the teenager took its toll on him.
