Ryan Seacrest Fans Were Sad When He Left Live But There Was Controversy

When Kelly’s former co-host left the ABC talk show, he claimed he felt that he couldn’t continue because of the pressure of American Idol. He’d worked the desk with Kelly Ripe for six years, so that was a bombshell announcement. Mark Consuelos replaced him and at first, Mark seemed a bit awkward but he soon settled in and ahead of Season 36, his position was confirmed.

Another bombshell moment arrived when Ryan Seacrest was announced as the new host of Wheel of Fortune. That came after Pat Sajak announced his retirement. So, some people thought that the American Idol host had told lies to justify leaving Kelly Ripa’s talk show. On social media, he announced that his first gig in his new position would be to host for Merv Griffin. However, he soon returned to the desk on Live with Kelly.

I you don’t know, the former host didn’t stay away for very long. Back in June, he appeared to stand in with Kelly Ripa on Live. People had already complained a lot about pre-recorded shows. So perhaps bringing him back temporarily was a bit of damage control. Still, it seemed to be the last thing that fans expected. Recall, that ABC started using Deja Vu as a replacement co-host, and even Anderson Cooper filled in for Kelly.

The Sun reported that next week, Ryan Seacrest will return once again. Well, it’s not due to Mark being ill, as he appeared on Friday’s show. On Thursday, Kelly told her audience that he came done with a fever. Although he wanted to work, she said that he looked very sick and she sent him back to bed. Apparently, he tested negative for the coronavirus, but she didn’t trust that. So, Deja Vu stepped in as co-host once again.

When Can Live Fans See The Former Host Again?

The outlet cited Kelly Ripa as saying on Sunday, “Listen up, listen up. On Monday’s show a newcomer on the scene is going to join us,” before revealing that it’s Ryan Seacrest. It’s not actually clear if he will go behind the desk or talk about his life as a guest on the show. Mark Consuelos said that fans will also see “Brian Austin Green.”
