Kelly Ripa Discusses Her Dream Job After Retirement
Recently, Kelly Ripa has been hinting about ideas for her retirement. During a discussion on her podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, Kelly let fans know some of her other passions outside of working in the entertainment field. Candidly, she told listeners there are, “So many career paths I would have much rather taken.”
Retirement On The Horizon For Kelly Ripa?
Lately, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, her relatively newly promoted morning show co-host and husband, have circulated some ideas about her possible retirement. Although she admitted a month ago that she was considering retiring, Mark seems to think that isn’t anytime soon. However, he acknowledges that it’s on the horizon, “I think it’s a real thing,” Mark recently told Entertainment Tonight. “She’s been at that for 23 years.”
Although, distant on the horizon, “I don’t think it’s gonna be anytime soon.” With their time together he mentioned, “I know she’s having a good time, I’m having a really, really good time. But at some point, yeah.” Giving credit, “When she does decide to walk away, no one’s earned it more than her.”
Sticking Around Live With Kelly And Mark For Now
Kelly Ripa said about staying around the Live With Kelly And Mark show, “Having said that, I don’t intend to work at this job for the rest of my life.” She also includes, “I do talk about retirement with great interest, but right now I’m very happy, especially working with Mark.” However, Kelly Ripa told Ali Wentworth it’s unlikely she would continue the show with anyone else other than Mark Consuelos.

What Is Kelly Ripa’s True Dream Job?
With all this retirement buzz, it’s no surprise the topic of what Kelly Ripa would do came up. During her podcast, a question arose, “If you weren’t an actress or a host, what would your ideal job have been?”
She has no trouble thinking about her talents, interests, and favorite things. Kelly Ripa explained that she wishes she was a fitness trainer or ballet dancer. “I like to say I’d be a fitness trainer, but I wouldn’t be. I like to say I’d be a ballet dancer, but I wasn’t good enough,” Kelly confessed on the audio show.
Also exploring her travel interests she said, “I like to say that I’d be a travel agent, but just because I like to travel. ” And throwing out a wild personal interest she said, “I would be an amazing dermatologist because I would be like Dr. Pimple Popper.” Adding, “I love extracting things…”
Following a suggestion in the podcast discussion, she revealed her true passion, “I would be a locally sourced Bar Mitzvah party maker. Yes, that would be my job.” Surprisingly, being a “party starter” is an actual profession. It’s something Kelly Ripa discovered exists with Tessa Thompson and Ryan Seacrest in May 2023. It is a perfect fit for her! Perhaps her dreams will come true once she retires from the Live With Kelly And Mark Show.
