Are Joy-Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth Still Part Of IBLP?
Are former Counting On stars Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth still a part of the IBLP (Institute in Basic Life Principles)? The Duggar kids were raised in this religion, and their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, seem to be involved to this day. But fans are curious about where the adult children stand. Recently, the IBLP has been discussed heavily by the public. Jinger Duggar Vuolo published a book about her journey of “becoming free” from the IBLP. In June, Amazon Prime Video released a docuseries called Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, which highlighted some of the controversies and dangers of the religious organization. Then, just this week, Jill Duggar Dillard released her book, exposing her family’s secrets, including details about their time on TLC and information about the IBLP’s harmful practices.
So, naturally, fans are curious about which Duggar kids are still involved in the IBLP. At this point, not many have spoken out against the religious group. So, it may come as a shock that Joy-Anna and Austin are openly talking about it.
Are Joy-Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth still a part of the IBLP?
On Friday, Joy-Anna and Austin released a new YouTube video. In the video, they took the time to answer some of their fans’ questions. They revealed whether they would read Jill’s new book. Then, they opened up about whether they are a part of the IBLP.
Austin said, “Um, no, we never were, you and I as a couple.”
He continued, “Once we got married, we started distancing ourselves from those functions and we’d always talked about when we were dating that we weren’t going to use their literature or stuff like that.”
Austin Forsyth repeated that they “just kinda distance ourselves.”
Joy-Anna chimed in and said that they have their “own relationship with the Lord.”
What religion does their family belong to now?
In their video, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth also revealed what religion they are a part of. One fan asked, “What type of Christianity do you follow?”
Austin replied, “Well, we follow the Bible.”
Then, Joy-Anna added that they are “Bible-believing Christians” and that they “follow Jesus alone.”
Her hubby continued, “We don’t follow a man. We go to a Baptist church. That’s the doctrine that is closest to ours.”
