A Fundraiser Was Held For Moonshiners Star Josh Owens
Just recently, fans and friends gathered at the Rocky Mount Smokehouse to help out Moonshiners star Josh Owens. Everyone knows him from his catchphrase, “It’s so dang good!”
Back in March, he was in a terrible motorcycle accident. Those medical bills have been piling up. therefore, some friends set up a fundraiser evening to help the Discovery star.
According to the Smith Mountain Eagle, this fundraiser was originally going to be held on a farm. However, once the word spread, the huge influx of attendees meant that they needed a bigger venue. Thankfully, Buddy Hancock, the owner of the Rocky Mount Smokehouse stepped in, and made it happen!
They sold t-shirts and other memorabilia to help out Josh Owens. Best of all, Tickle was there! Yes, Steven Ray Tickle was there to sign merch and help generate some sales.
Add to this, it was Josh’s birthday. The crowd was able to sing “Happy Birthday” to him.
Most of all, people wanted to help out a guy with some very bad luck. What happened to the master distiller?
Josh Owens ‘Broke Just About Everything’
Some Discovery fans may not know how badly the Moonshiners star got hurt and how it happened.
Back on March 4, 2023, he was at the Daytona International Speedway. He was in a motorcycle race. Tragically, he was involved in a very serious accident. He suffered from significant injuries.
Moreover, he nearly broke every bone in his body. Therefore, he had to have multiple surgeries. He revealed, “I broke my neck, back, and both legs.”
Although he is doing better, the Discovery star is still wheelchair-bound. Worst of all, he is unable to work. His whole life is his recovery. But, he is still grateful to be alive.
Moonshiners Star Josh Owens Humbled
Josh Owens was very humbled that so many friends and Moonshiners fans attended the fundraiser. Understandably, this accident has given him a greater appreciation of life.
I’m just a country boy who happens to be on TV.
I’m blessed by God to be given a second chance at life, and the opportunity to leave a better legacy. The support is humbling and appreciated.

Moonshiners Star Has GoFundMe
There may be some Moonshiners fans who didn’t know about this big fundraising shindig. That is no problem, as Josh’s friends sent up a GoFundMe for him.
In addition, this fundraiser revealed some serious financial information. Firstly, he did not have any health insurance. Second, his significant injuries require lots of physical therapy and rehabilitation. This is very costly.
Therefore, every dollar will certainly help out this guy who still has months of recovery before he gets his life back.
