‘Love After Lockup’ Asonta’s Cause Of Death Revealed
The Love After Lockup cast was struck by sadness when cast member Asonta Gholston passed away last week. It was unclear the exact cause of death though there were some suspicions. Now the truth has been revealed but what actually happened the night he died? Read on for more details.
Love After Lockup Asonta’s Cause Of Death Revealed
Fans of Love During Lockup knew that Asonta and Raneka were going to move on to Love After Lockup. They have struggled as Raneka left her home, family, and all of her friends to move to Georgia with her girls. There, she would be with Asonta as soon as he was released from prison. Unfortunately, it was a messy situation and it looked like he may have been playing her. However, she refused to give up. Sadly, she broke the news that Asonta had died and then it came out that he left behind a pregnant girlfriend. Photos and a video showed a totaled truck that he had supposedly collided with.

It was devastating for the family of the other driver who alleged a lot of different things per Starcasm. Yes, Asonta collided with another person and that driver’s mother took to Facebook to say her piece. “It looks like they forgot to mention that the deceased was in the process of eluding the police at a very high rate of speed in oncoming traffic lane when he “lost control” of his vehicle.” There was more but obviously, she was very shaken over what had happened. Yet, the reality is that there was no police chase for the Love After Lockup star.
Georgia State Patrol Post 7 Commander Donnie Saddler had this to say about what actually happened the evening that Asonta passed away. “Gholston was speeding and passing on a double yellow line. He says the trooper noticed and was turning around, but Gholston was ‘never fleeing.’” Unfortunately, Asonta was not wearing his safety belt so he collided with the truck and sadly died then and there. As for the men in the truck, they are going to be fine.
What’s Next?
Asonta and Raneka were not together at the time of his passing. While Love During Lockup was airing, she confirmed that she was single. So, to appear on Love After Lockup was a little weird for those who knew they did not make it. As for how the show will handle his death, that is yet to be seen. They have to handle it with care but also stay true to the story they are telling.
