‘Today’ Hoda Kotb Comes Clean About Her Absence
Today host Hoda Kotb is finally coming clean about her absence. Fans often notice when their favorite hosts are missing from the morning talk show. Several Today hosts have taken time off recently, leaving other hosts to fill in for them. It’s a busy time between vacations and school starting back up. Savannah Guthrie and her family attended the US Open. Craig Melvin went on vacation. Beloved weatherman Al Roker sent his son off to college. When tuning in each morning, viewers never know who might be missing from the typical lineup.
This week, Hoda was gone for several days, and as of Friday, she still wasn’t back. Fortunately, she came clean about her absence so fans didn’t have to wonder any longer.

On Instagram on Thursday, Hoda shared an update with fans, revealing how she spent the final days of summer with her loved ones. Her adorable daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine, made an appearance. While updating fans on her absence, the Today host said, “We took this picture of the moon last night..our last hurrah of summer! We are ready for you September— see you in the morning❤️”
From the photos, it looks like Hoda, her daughters, and the rest of the family are doing well and enjoying this quality time together. Her schedule is busy, but of course, she wants to make time for the ones she loves.
