Kevin Costner’s Ex Wants More Money For Child Support Because $129K Isn’t Enough
Is Kevin Costner’s messy Hollywood divorce getting more expensive? His soon-to-be ex-wife Christine Baumgartner is now asking for more money.
What is she asking for? Most of all, why is she asking for more just six weeks after a judge ruled on the amount of $129,755?
Kevin Costner’s Ex-Wife Christine Baumgartner Can’t Take Care Of Kids With Only $129k A Month
Kevin Costner and his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner Costner are headed back to court. According to TMZ, she cannot support their three children half-time on the $129,755 the judge awarded her back in July. Instead, new court documents reveal that she is asking for $175,057 a month.
The couple’s three children Cayden, 16, Hayes 14, and Grace, 13, are dividing their time between both parents. Christine contends that she needs more money so that her three children will not experience a lifestyle downgrade when they are living with her.
In addition, her team contends that the Yellowstone alum makes more money than was initially reported. They accuse him of “withholding evidence.”
How Much Money Does Yellowstone Alum Make?
Most Yellowstone fans would find $129,755 per month a generous amount to raise their children. However, Kevin Costner’s ex-wife seems to need more cash every month for her children. Now, she is asking for $175,057 a month. But, the papers also concede that increasing the amount by $46 grand a month “will not be sufficient to replicate Kevin’s lifestyle, but it will be sufficient to allow her to provide a lifestyle for the children which is relatively comparable.”
How did Christine’s attorneys come up with this new figure? This amount is based on his yearly earnings of $19,248,467. This is about $1.6 million a month. The $175k a month is based on California guidelines.
In addition, the papers reveal that the actor who portrays John Dutton made $11 million for Season 4 of the Paramount series and another $10 million for Season 5. In addition, the prediction is that Costner will make another $12 million for Horizon, the movie he just filmed. The papers guesstimate that the recently greenlit second Horizon movie should net him another $12 million.
The Horizon money estimates seem rather random. That is because Costner is making the four-movie project with a couple of non-Hollywood investors. Moreover, he mortgaged a big piece of beachfront land to help pay for this movie. The financial rewards will not be realized until it is reviewed and people see the movie at the theaters.
Costner confessed to Deadline that he is “not the smartest businessman.” He has said he invested his own money here and put it all on the line. Therefore, it seems unusual that Christine’s team has listed a dollar figure of his future earnings when he could just as easily suffer big losses.
The court will be deciding this update at the end of August.

Christine Costner Moving Again
Lastly, Christine Costner is on the move again. After temporarily moving to the servant’s quarters near Kevin Costner’s property, she is moving to a rented home. This month-by-month rental is also in Montecito. However, she has managed to find fault with the $40k a-month rental. “Unlike Kevin’s Beach Club Compound, the September rental is on the mountain side of the freeway. It does not have beach front access, nor is it walking distance to the beach, and has no scenic view.”
Yellowstone fans, do you think that Kevin should be paying more money to his ex-wife? Does it seem coincidental that her new rent is just $6k less than her requested monthly child payment?
