As usual, there’s bound to be explosive drama. From the first couple of teasers shared by TLC, it looks like there are plenty of conflicts in store. What’s the latest preview all about?
When the series was renewed for another season, fans got their first look at all that lies ahead. Fans assume that they will meet Kim Plath’s new boyfriend, while Barry seemed to find a new love for working out. There’s tension between Olivia and Ethan Plath. Meanwhile, Moriah appears to be focusing on her religious beliefs.
TLC drops a new Welcome to Plathville Season 5 preview.
On Instagram on Tuesday, two weeks prior to the season premiere, TLC shared a new preview with fans. The 30-second teaser features several of the family members with a black background behind them.
The short video features one family member at a time, and as they are highlighted, they make a short statement, hinting at what’s to come. Ethan says that the family is “falling apart,” while Barry mentions his marriage of 25 years and how it’s come to an end.
Meanwhile, Micah has “big decisions to make.” It sounds like Moriah has her own choices to make as well. Finally, Olivia adds, “I have a family that doesn’t accept me now.”
Isaac, Kim, and Lydia also appear but don’t make statements in the short clip.

This trailer is getting fans excited about all of the storylines packed into the new season. Others are taking sides, saying they dislike Olivia or Kim.
Fans think the trailer drops a huge hint about Olivia Plath.
In a comment, a fan pointed out that Olivia is the only member of the Plath family who walks into the darkness in the clip. The fan said, “I feel like it might be a teaser that Olivia is the only one that walks away into the dark.” There has been heavy speculation about Ethan and Olivia splitting up, which could be a future storyline.
