Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko share plans to wed
Bachelorette Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko had many fans in tears as they began their lives together on Monday night. Their proposal was incredibly sweet as Charity professed her love to him and Dotun did the same. She said, “We shared that incredibly special moment that changed my life truly forever. When I looked in your eyes in that moment, I saw the man that respected me, that valued me, that adored me, but a man that I can love forever.”
The couple has already said they do not want a really long engagement. Charity said, “It will be sooner rather than later. We don’t have a set date or anything. … We’re just enjoying the season of life.”
People caught up with the happily engaged couple to also discuss plans for the future. One thing is certain, these two want to move in together as soon as possible. Dotun noted that they don’t like being apart so they can’t wait to begin that part of their journey.
As far as getting hitched, Charity said they want a year-and-a-half engagement. They do not have a specific date set just yet but say the wedding will take place in 2025 or 2026.
All of that said, Charity does not want a super-long engagement. She said, “We’re not really trying to have a super incredibly 17-year length engagement. We obviously came here to find love, and we have successfully done that. So [we’re] super happy to get our lives started.”
Charity said they grow closer every day and are so in sync with one another.
They will have two weddings
Charity and Dotun plan to have two weddings. One will be a traditional Nigerian wedding to honor Dotun’s heritage. They are hoping ABC will agree to perhaps film that one. Then, they will have an American wedding.
Now that they are engaged and everything is out in the open. They cannot wait to spend more time together. As most couples on the show say, they can’t wait to do normal things like grocery shopping.
The show gifted them a trip to Greece Plus, as an added bonus, Dotun got to be the one to tell Charity that she will be competing on DWTS. The future is looking bright for Charity and Dotun.
