What Happened To Katharine McPhee Foster’s Nanny?
On Tuesday, TMZ broke the details about the horrific death of Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s nanny. The beloved nanny was accidentally run over at a Toyota dealership. The details are gruesome.
The nanny’s name is Yadira Calito. She was the victim of a horrible accident.
Last Wednesday morning, the nanny was at the San Fernando Hamer Toyota dealership. There, an 84-year-old woman was behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4. The elderly woman crashed into the customer reception area of the dealership.
Katherine’s nanny became pinned under the RAV4. Unable to escape, she was gruesomely dragged for 20 feet. Finally, she was freed from underneath the vehicle. The nanny was rushed to the hospital. She was alive but in critical condition. However, not long after she arrived, she was pronounced dead.
How Did The Horrific Accident Happen?
How did this accident that Killed Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s nanny occur? The police who investigated the accident determined that the older driver had hit the gas instead of the brakes. She had gone in for service to the vehicle when the accident occurred.
The sudden acceleration propelled the vehicle from the service bay driveway into the customer reception area. This is where the Country Comfort star’s nanny was likely waiting for her own vehicle to be serviced.
In addition to the Foster nanny, two employees at the Toyota dealership were injured. They were two men who are expected to make a full recovery after the accidental and horrific crash.
Katharine McPhee Left Asian Tour With David Foster For Family Tragedy
On Friday, Katharine McPhee went to social media to apologize for leaving the last two dates of the Asian tour. Both shows of the David Foster and Friends tour were to take place in Jakarta. Although the American Idol alum did not explain the circumstances or details of the tragedy, she apologized profusely for not performing.
The singer and actress wrote, “Dearest Jakarta fans, It’s with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final 2 shows of our Asian run. David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back to home to our family. Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all. Love, Katharine.”
The show did go on, although McPhee rushed to Los Angeles, presumable to be with the couple’s two-year-old son Rennie. Nanny Yadira Calito was like a member of the Foster family. She will be deeply missed.
