HBO’s Game Of Thrones & EastEnders: Darren Kent Dead At 36

British actor Darren Kent, best known for his roles in Game Of Thrones and EastEnders has been confirmed dead at the age of 36. According to The Mirror, the actor passed away last week. Confirmation of his death, however, was only made public in the past hour.

As those who have followed Darren Kent’s career over the years know, he has had a rough uphill battle when it comes to his health. Over the years, he’s battled arthritis, osteoporosis, and an extremely rare skin disorder.

It was his agency, Carey Dodd Associates, who first tweeted the news confirming the actor had passed away.

It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and best friend by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time. RIP my friend.”

At this time, his exact cause of death has not been reported, but most are speculated it is connected to his constant battles with his health over the years.

A Closer Look At His Career

Best known for his role as Goatherd from Slavers Bay in Game Of Thrones, the actor had 40 credits to his name at the time of his passing. One of his more recent roles included playing “Yes Corspe” in the 2023 Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves film. Some of his other noteworthy credits on his resume include:

  • Snow White and the Huntsman
  • Shameless (UK Version)
  • Les Misérables
  • Jeepers Creepers: Reborn 
  • Love Without Walls 

Darren Kent also won an Independent Film Award for his role as Best Actor in the 2011  film Sunny Boy. In the film, he played the role of a character he connected with. The character was a boy who suffered from a skin condition that prevented him from being able to go out in the sun. Most agreed it was the fact that Darren also suffered from a rare skin condition that him perfect for the role as he could really connect with the character.

Tributes To Darren Kent Pour In

During his acting career, Darren had the chance to work with tons of familiar faces in Hollywood. Many have taken to social media to pay tribute to Darren Kent after learning of his passing. 

Lee Mead penned as he shared the sad news with his followers: “Darren was an amazing human being and so special. Always giving of his time to people and always so positive. A fine actor too and he achieved so much as well. Such heartbreaking news.”

Actor Mark Haldor chimed in as he also mourned this tragic passing: “Darren inspired me every day of his life. He never let his circumstances dull his shine and regardless of any obstacles, achieved so many things in his life and career many of us only dream of. Not only an inspiration he was always everyone else’s biggest supporter too.”
