Katharine McPhee Cancels Remainder Of Tour
Early Friday, Katharine McPhee went to Instagram to reveal that she and her husband David Foster are canceling the remainder of their Asian tour.
She revealed that they were canceling the two dates in Jakarta due to a “horrible tragedy in our family.” The 39-year-old American Idol alum also revealed that “at least one of us needs to get back home to our family.”
Although she indicated that either she or her 73-year-old husband could return, she did not reveal which of the two, or if both were headed back home.

On both Friday and Saturday, the 16-time Grammy Awarding Winner will hit the stage with the likes of Michael Bolton, Loren Allred, Peabo Bryson, and Raisa.

What Is The ‘Horrible Tragedy” In The Family?
Understandably, Katharine McPhee did not reveal on social media what the “horrible tragedy” in her family was. Publications have revealed that they contacted McPhee’s representatives for comment.
But, there has not been an official statement outside of the social media post.
Here Is Katharine McPhee’s Full Statement
The official statement did not include any photos. Instead, the statement was written with white type on a dramatic black background. What was in Katharine McPhee’s full statement?
Dearest Jakarta fans, it’s with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final two shows of our Asia run. David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us need to get back home to our family.
Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all. Love Katharine.
Again, the statement that she “wishes” to return one day does not sound like there will be make-up dates any time soon.
