Is ‘General Hospital’ Star Laura Wright Headed To Hallmark?
Over the years, General Hospital stars have starred in Hallmark movies as well as Hallmark mysteries. This includes Ryan Peavey and Cameron Mathison.
Now, fans are speculating on whether popular star Laura Wright will temporarily transition from Port Charles to the feel-good network sometime soon.
Could this happen? Will Laura Wright head over to the Hallmark Channel? Moreover, will the actress who plays Carly Corinthos make a romcom or mystery?
Is General Hospital Star Laura Wright Headed To Hallmark?
Everyone loves Laura Wright who portrays General Hospital character Carly Corinthos. They also love Drew Cain, played by Cameron Mathison.
Therefore, it is no surprise that there has been some fancasting going on, featuring a very possible production.
On Tuesday, Laura Wright went to Twitter and commented, “I so love Special Ops–Lioness!!! So good!!! Another hit from Taylor Sheridan!!”
A fan responded, “I would definitely like to see you in a show like that would you ever consider doing a show like that Laura you and Cameron?”
Laura loved the idea. “Ha. Yes!! We should do a @hallmarkchannel spy series. What do you say @CameronMathison?”
The fan suggested another option. “Or how about a romantic thriller for @lifetimetv with Cameron playing a detective protecting you from a killer that would definitely be amazing movie also because you and Cameron have amazing chemistry together.”
Fans loved the idea. One fan pointed out that this would be “something totally different.” She felt this would “showcase” Laura’s talent in “a different way.”
Although there are currently two strikes stalling Hallmark’s production, there is likely someone there taking notes. Also, this would be a good transition for Mathison.
Cameron Mathison May Need New Mystery Series
Currently, Laura’s General Hospital co-star Cameron Mathison is starring in Hannah Swensen Mysteries on the Hallmark Channel. His co-star is Days Of Our Lives alum Alison Sweeney. As with Laura, Cameron’s chemistry with Alison is off the charts.
However, it is likely that the next movie, A Zest For Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, will be the last in the series. Hallmark has not made that official, but many podcast hosts are predicting a wedding and a possible ending to this long-running Signature Mystery Series.
The last movie, Carrot Cake Murder, ended on a cliffhanger. It looks like a lot of characters are returning for this new one. Could there be a wedding? Maybe. This could also end the series on a high note.
This mystery should air in early October, and perhaps Sleuthers will learn if this is the end.
General Hospital Star’s Connection to Special Ops: Lioness
General Hospital star Laura Wright is a huge fan of Special Ops: Lioness. She is referring to the new Paramount+ series by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
Special Ops: Lioness was co-created by Jill Wagner, who starred in Hallmark’s Mystery 101. Jill also starred with Cameron Mathison in Great American Family’s 2022 Christmas movie, A Merry Christmas Wish.
There are a lot of coincidences here. Maybe it is fate that Laura and Cameron are destined to star in a Hallmark spy series. General Hospital fans, what do you think? Should Hallmark create a new series that stars these two actors?
