That’s the question many fans asked after viewing one of the TLC star’s social media posts. Whitney previously explored the option of motherhood on her show but doesn’t have any children as of 2023.

Whitney Way Thore holds up a positive test
Whitney Way Thore has PCOS, which can make it difficult to conceive and carry a baby. But with advancements in medicine, women living with the condition now have many options.
The TLC star has expressed a desire in the past to have children of her own. Did she finally break the news to her followers?
Whitney did test positive for something, but it was not a pregnancy as some fans previously suspected.
“3.5 years later…🦠. (EDIT: I’m fine 🙃 I always figured I had already had it and didn’t know, but this is my first time I think!)” Whitney captioned her Instagram post. She attached a video of herself looking absolutely exasperated and holding up a positive COVID-19 test.
But at first glance, it really looked like a pregnancy test. Fans who didn’t take the time to read the caption really did mistake it for a positive pregnancy test.
“I thought this was a pregnancy test and was so confused about the emoji and so happy for you!! Feel better,” one fan wrote in the comments.
“Omggg for a minute thought it was a pregnancy test 😍! Hope you have no symptoms,” another added.
Although Whitney has discussed the possibility of children for years, she’s not actually expecting. If that changes, she will probably let fans know in a different way.
What happened to the surrogacy plans?
In a previous season, Heather was supposed to be Whitney’s surrogate. However, that sadly didn’t go according to plan.
“For Whitney to ask me to be a surrogate for her is a huge honor,” Heather explained during an episode of MBFFL. “For a surrogacy you want the very best case scenario. And my body simply isn’t.”
For now, it seems like Whitney is just living her best life and working on herself at the moment. If she decides to pursue surrogacy again, she will tell fans when she is ready. For now, fans can keep up with her through Instagram and follow her latest adventures.
