‘Doubling Down With The Derricos’ Family Grows Again!
The Doubling Down With the Derricos family is growing once again! In a new video, they shared the huge news with fans. More details are coming in the new episode, which airs tonight. But for now, fans are getting a special sneak peek at the exciting change. Scroll down to check it out.
With 14 kids, Karen and Deon Derrico certainly have a lot on their plates. But fans often wonder if their family is complete. Now, as their family continues to grow, fans are getting the answer they’ve been seeking.
TLC teases the newest addition to the family.
On Tuesday, July 25, ahead of the new episode airing, TLC shared a trailer, teasing what’s ahead. In the clip, the family is at a restaurant and they put the focus on Eric. Eric is a longtime friend of Deon’s, and though he’s not a blood relative, the family has accepted him. He now helps with GG and the kids.
On a screen, a slideshow plays, showing the kids holding up different signs, each with one word. They spell out, “Will you be a Derrico?”
The Derrico family has decided they want to adopt Eric! GG makes it clear that she never wants him to feel abandoned again. He grew up in foster care, and they feel it’s time for him to finally have a family.
In response, Eric gets teary-eyed and can’t hold it together. He said, “I don’t have a lot of words. I got a lot of tears.”
He thanked everyone for inviting him into their family. In response, the family cheered and reminded him that they love him.
GG then presented Eric with an official certificate of adoption. The kids then congratulated him and said that he’s now their “brother.”
After being welcomed into the Derrico family, Eric explained how he felt. He said he hopes kids in foster care can feel this way. Then, he said, “It was like being baptized.”
Then, Darian showed Eric a canvas featuring a painted tree. Each of the kids’ handprints made up the leaves. Darian then invited him to add his handprint. He got teary-eyed as he put his handprint on the painting. Then, Darian said, “Our whole family was complete when Eric put his hand on the tree.”

Of course, fans are thrilled to see Eric officially joining the family. Many love this short preview and can’t wait to watch the new episode. One fan said, “This is the sweetest thing I’ve seen on TLC in a long time. So heartfelt ❤️ everybody deserves a family to call their own.”
