How is Josie Duggar today?

Josie is the youngest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s 19 kids. She was born prematurely at just 25 weeks gestation. Despite many obstacles and months in the hospital, she pulled through.

Though Josie had a rough start, it looks like she’s doing well today. Fans can’t believe how quickly she’s grown up! Her family doesn’t share too many updates about her or offer details on her health. But from what they’ve shared, it looks like she’s a healthy, happy 13-year-old girl. Did Michelle Duggar downplay her daughter’s health concerns?

On Reddit this week, a Duggar fan started a new discussion about Josie’s seizures. When she was younger, she suffered from seizures, some of which were shown on 19 Kids & Counting. The user recalled Michelle Duggar referring to the seizures as “glitches.” In the post, the user explained that this left them feeling angry, especially as someone who is personally affected by seizures. They wrote, “I’m sorry but a glitch is something a computer or your iphone does not your f*cking child.”

A few Reddit users believe that calling the seizures “glitches” makes them sound less intense. So, this could be a way for Michelle to downplay what was really going on. The mom of 19 was accused of “downplaying how sick Josie actually is” by not talking about what’s going on.

Others remember hearing Jim Bob and Michelle turn down preventative medication for their daughter. Someone else added, “I can’t understand how a parent would downplay it AND refuse preventative measures for her.”

Another added, “Even the febrile seizures, which are often 3-5 mins & not a huge cause for concern, are TERRIFYING. I can’t imagine calling it a ‘glitch’ and moving on.”
