Josie Duggar Goes From Micro-Preemie To Pre-Teen, See Her Today
Josie Duggar, the youngest of Jim Bob and Michelle‘s 19 kids, has grown up quickly. Fans might not believe her major transformation from micro-preemie to pre-teen. Keep reading to take a walk down memory lane and see just how far the little fighter has come.
Josie Duggar’s Premature Birth
If you watched 19 Kids & Counting, you may have seen the special episode featuring Josie’s arrival. The episode first aired in January 2010. She was born via emergency C-section at 25 weeks on December 10, 2009. When she arrived, the little girl weighed just one pound and six ounces.
Because she was a micro-preemie, she spent a while in the NICU. However, just a week after her birth, she was stable. Unfortunately, two days after that, her bowel perforated and she had to be transferred to another hospital.
Josie Duggar was discharged from the hospital on her due date, which was March 18. Not long after, she returned to the hospital due to further complications. On June 3, she was finally able to go home for good.

At the time, Michelle penned a birthday note to her youngest daughter and said, “We prayed (along with thousands of others!) that God would spare her life and gift her strength and energy to live and thrive. God has certainly answered those prayers!! Josie is a ball of energy. From the time she wakes up in the morning until her head hits the pillow at night, she rarely slows down!”

Today, she is a very healthy 12-year-old girl! Josie will celebrate her 13th birthday on December 10, 2022.
Though Counting On has come to an end, fans are still able to see just how much Josie Duggar has grown over the years on social media. Her parents sometimes post photos of her and her many siblings.
