After being arrested, Bella Hadid’s sister and her friend were transported to Prisoner Detention Center where they were later released on bail. On July 12, Gigi Hadid and her friend appeared in court where they were charged. They both plead guilty and were each hit with a $1,000 fine. Fortunately, the outlet goes on to affirm that Gigi Hadid and her friend are not facing any charges for traveling with “ganja.”
Speaking to E! News, a representative of Gigi Hadid defends her stating that she was never doing anything illegal and the arrest was a complete misunderstanding. The representative goes on to explain that being in possession of ganja was completely legal for Gigi at the time. Here is the official statement her rep gave to the press about the situation:
“Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license. It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”

Did This Hinder Her Trip?
Other than a really rough start to her girls’ trip to the Cayman Islands, both Gigi and her friend were able to get out on bail and deal with the situation pretty quickly. Moreover, her rep confirms Gigi and her friend were able to return to their vacation and have a nice time without worrying about the incident.
Her representative only issued the statement to put out any fires because of the nature of the charges she was hit with and the reason she was arrested.
