Why did they hit pause on OutDaughtered?

In an interview with TodayAdam explained that the pandemic impacted filming in a big way. This was ultimately what led his family to take a break. With the pandemic keeping the Busby family at home, they were pretty limited in the content they could film for the show. Because of this, Adam thought that the episodes “felt flat.”

Adam continued, “We were, like, confined to the living room and the kitchen pretty much. Filming a season of our show usually takes anywhere from three months to six months, tops — but during Covid, it dragged on for the better part of a year. It just started to weigh on the kids, and us.

Danielle Busby added, “We just kind of had to reassess, like, ‘What are we doing?’”

Ultimately, the family needed to reconnect with one another. But then, their daughters began asking about filming again and seemed interested in coming back. So, they felt that the timing was right. Now, they are eager to be back for another exciting season.

Also in the interview, the Busbys explained that their eldest daughter, Blayke, still wants to be involved in the series, which caught them off guard.
