Why Didn’t CPS Interview Josh & Anna Duggar’s Kids?
Why didn’t CPS interview Josh and Anna Duggar’s kids? Fans and critics are wondering why there wasn’t a full investigation into the kids due to Josh’s crimes. Many fans have long been concerned about the safety of the couple’s seven children. So, what might have stopped CPS from digging into the case? Keep reading for all of the details.
Anna Duggar reportedly declined CPS interviews.
In the spring of 2021, Josh was arrested on child pornography charges. After learning of these charges, fans became seriously concerned for the safety of his children. He and Anna share seven children, Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, Maryella, and Madyson.
After his arrest, Josh lived with the Rebers, who are family friends of the Duggars. This is because he was no longer allowed to be around children while unsupervised. Fans assumed that CPS would get involved for his children’s safety. However, sources reported that Anna Duggar declined CPS interviews for her kids.
Why didn’t CPS step in?
On Reddit, Duggar fans and critics are discussing the fact that CPS didn’t seem to interview Josh and Anna’s kids after his arrest. They believe that Josh living with the Rebers and then ultimately going to prison seemed to eliminate the dangers to the kids.
One Reddit user said that a friend works for CPS, so this response is based on their experience. They wrote:
“Friend says a parent can refuse a CPS worker to interview their child. CPS can apply for a court order to do the interview. However, in this case, CPS likely declined to do so because the risk to the M children was significantly lowered when Josh had to live with the Rebers. Subsequently, the risk became non existent when Josh was incarcerated. CPS likely consulted with their own internal lawyer who determined a court order was not necessary as Josh had limited access to his children once he was charged.”
Of course, there is no response from someone directly linked to the Duggars. But others with expertise in this area seem to agree that the kids were safer following Josh’s incarceration. There could have been more going on behind the scenes as well, which fans may never learn of.
Hopefully, regardless of what happens moving forward, the proper safety measures are in place to protect Mackynzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith, Mason, Maryella, and Madyson.
