Ryan Seacrest Just Can’t Quit ‘Live’ With Kelly Ripa?
Ryan Seacrest left Live with Kelly and Ryan several months ago, but it seems like he just can’t let go of his former gig.
This week, Ryan revealed that he would return to his former talk show job — even if it’s only temporary. Live viewers saw him appear on the June 20 episode and can expect to see him make more appearances in upcoming episodes all summer long.
But this isn’t the first time Ryan Seacrest returned to the Live stage so soon after his departure. Is it possible he’s having a hard time moving on?
Ryan Seacrest rejoins the cast of Live for the summer
Over the past several weeks, fans have expressed irritation over pre-recorded episodes. Many viewers think that recording episodes in advance defeats the purpose of calling the show Live.
But it seems like that’s the only way audience members are going to receive any new content right now. In a recent episode, Mark and Kelly elaborated on the choice to pre-record episodes and air them in place of live content.
“For years, Live has vacations and we create fun new content and find fresh material for the days where people are on summer break,” Mark Consuelos informed the audience this week. “Ryan Seacrest, who is a friend of ours and a family to the show, will be coming back where he will have some new and never-seen-before material of him and Kelly in the next couple of weeks.”
The Live host went on to say that the crew is going on hiatus for the summer, so upcoming episodes are going to be all pre-recorded. Mark defended the show’s position by saying this was a much better option than airing reruns.
And as a result of the summer break, Live viewers will get a chance to see more of Ryan Seacrest around the set. Plenty of fans are still aggravated about the lack of live content, but many agree that this move is better than nothing at all.
Is there a new hosting role in store for the former talk show host?
Although many Live fans are delighted to see Ryan Seacrest back on set, his guest role is only temporary. The American Idol host has plenty of other projects to occupy his time.
More recently, some have speculated that Ryan will take over Pat Sajak’s role on Wheel Of Fortune. At this point, it’s still just speculation. But there are many viewers out there that would happily watch WOF with Ryan Seacrest as host.
