The daytime TV personality took to her Instagram Stories this weekend to share a star-studded event that pulled her away from The View temporarily. Her update included a photo of herself standing alone on the red carpet as she smiled while photos were being snapped of her.

The caption attached to her Instagram Stories update as well as the backdrop behind Whoopi revealed she was on the red carpet for the Tribeca Film Festival. The second update to her Instagram Stories revealed she had animated shorts that were being featured during the festival.

Rocking a pair of sunglasses, the actress did pull her shades down off her face and held them in her hands in front of her while she smiled for the cameras so they could see her face. She rocked a long button-up dress that extended to her ankles and paired it with a cozy pair of black slip-on shoes. Whoopi had a huge smile on her face as she posed for the camera.

For those unaware, the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival kicked off this week on Wednesday, June 7th, and will continue until its last day on June 18th.

The Tribeca Festival is a diverse event that brings artists (creators of films, TV shows, music, games, and shorts) together with individuals who deeply enjoy watching them The festival is very deeply rooted in its promise of independent films that provide entertainment and creative expression. 

It is not uncommon for networks and streaming giants (such as Netflix) to send representatives to the Tribeca Film Festival with the hopes of purchasing rights to new content. Likewise, the film festival offers a unique opportunity for artists to potentially get their content in front of an audience.
