DWTS will indeed be back for another season this fall. However, it seems like producers don’t have a particularly large budget to work with this year.

So far, it’s not yet certain how the lack of funding will impact the show. However, an insider shares that there is one way for the DWTS exec team to earn more money from the parent network.

It’s going to be challenging, but the Dancing With The Stars team is determined to put on the best show possible. Keep reading to learn more about the situation.

The DWTS casting team is under a lot of pressure this summer

Fans were delighted to learn that Dancing With The Stars would be back on ABC ahead of Season 32. After the series moved to Disney+ last fall, many viewers vowed to boycott it until it was back on the original network.

And it seems like the ABC executives listened. But now, DWTS producers are scrambling to put on a great show with limited funds and strict orders to find a star-studded cast.

“Word has come down from the parent company executives at Disney that the focus of the show must be to win back audiences after the Disney+ switch,” an insider allegedly told The Sun.

Apparently, the network has given the production team a smaller budget to work with, but still wants to attract A-listers for the upcoming 32nd season.

If the show can entice big names to come to the show, Dancing With The Stars could receive more money.

The network is also reportedly hoping to capitalize on the nostalgia factor. Tyra Banks is gone, but Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will remind viewers of the show’s exciting earlier seasons.

“Without being cruel to Tyra Banks, [the upcoming season] will feel like a fresh start for ABC viewers,” the insider continued. Alfonso Ribeiro and co-host Julianne Hough are beloved by fans and have deep connections to the show.”

What do fans know about Season 32 so far?

The official cast list won’t be out for quite some time. But so far, Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough have been confirmed to be the show’s co-hosts. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough will judge.

The celebrity cast members and pro dancers will remain unknown for a while. In all likelihood, the show will release this information in late summer or early fall.

Len Goodman passed away in April, so it’s entirely likely the show will pay tribute to his memory in some way. His presence will be sorely missed on the show.
