Theodore ‘Ted’ Kaczynski, AKA ‘Unabomber,’ Found Dead At 81
Nicknamed the “Unabomber” by the FBI, Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski has been confirmed dead at the age of 81. He was found dead in his cell at federal prison medical center in Butner, North Carolina. A representative of the Federal Bureau of Prisons told AP News he was pronounced dead right around 8am on Saturday morning. His cause of death has yet to be made public.

Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski was once a well-educated mathematician from Harvard. He, however, abandoned his path and went off the grid to a small shack in Montana where he kicked off a bombing campaign that lasted for 17 years. During the campaign, three people died and another 23 were injured.
Prior to arriving at the federal prison medical center in Butner, North Carolina he called a federal supermax prison in Florence, Colorado his home.

Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski has been behind bars since May 1998, when he received a sentence of four lives behind bars plus an additional three decades. Her was convicted of a bombing campaign that terrified universities all over the nation. The Unabomber fessed up to being responsible to 16 different bombings that occurred from 1978 to 1995.
Prior to September 11th and sending anthrax in the mail, the Unabomber changed the way packages were mailed and the way planes were boarded using homemade bombs. In July 1995, he very nearly shut down air travel completely on the West Coast.
It was ultimately forcing the publication of his 35,000-word manifesto that led to his capture after some of his family members believed they recognized the tone on the manifesto to be Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski.
