Jinger Vuolo Reveals Why She Wasn’t In ‘Shiny Happy People’
Jinger Vuolo was not a part of Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, the new IBLP docuseries. Her sister, Jill Dillard, did use her voice and tell her story, as did their cousin, Amy King. Now, Jinger is sharing with fans why she was not a part of the docuseries as well. Why was she not included? Was it her choice, or did Amazon decide to exclude her? Keep reading for all of the details.
On Friday, Amazon Prime Video released the new Duggar family docuseries, highlighting their involvement in the IBLP. The IBLP is the Institute in Basic Life Principles. Many IBLP survivors told their stories, but Jinger did not.
Which Duggar family members appeared in the docuseries?
Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard appeared in the new docuseries. Amy King, the Duggars’ cousin, and her husband, Dillon, also shared their story. Plenty of other interviews shared important details, but no other Duggar family members were involved.
Jinger Vuolo reveals why she wasn’t in it.
The former Counting On star opened up in a new interview with People Magazine and revealed the truth about her lack of involvement in the docuseries.
She explained, “I was actually approached and asked to participate in the docuseries, but I thought that from my perspective, I really wanted to make sure that I was able to share my story in my own words and in my own timing.”
Then, she continued, “So that’s why I wrote Becoming Free Indeed, was to share more of my journey out of IBLP’s teachings. I wanted to be able to share it in a way that was, like, God-honoring and hopefully sharing my story in a balanced way.”
The Duggar daughter added that she felt a book was the best way to tell her story. This allows her readers to highlight certain sections to revisit during their personal journeys.
It sounds like Jinger is happy with the decision she made regarding the docuseries. While fans certainly would have appreciated her insight, it’s a sensitive topic and she really wanted to do this her own way.
