Did Mama June marry into a clout-chasing family? In Friday night’s episode of Family Crisis, she was celebrating her bridal shower. Unfortunately, none of her daughters cared to attend. Yet, when her sister Doe Doe made an appearance, June’s husband’s family had a plethora of questions. They seemed to be obsessed with the Honey Boo Boo franchise and wanted to know when the kids would be arriving. Is this family just there for June or for her family? Read on for more details.

Did Mama June Marry Into A Clout-Chasing Family?

When Mama June married Justin Stroud after six months of dating, everyone was shocked. They tied the knot in a courthouse and her four daughters did not even know. In the season premiere of Family Crisis, Justin told June he did not like the way that their wedding went down. She proposed when he was in prison and it just was not proper. Rather, he wanted the lavish wedding ceremony and June agreed that it needed to be over-the-top. His mother, Mama Dukes took June flower shopping and they talked about her bridal shower. She acted as if she had a great relationship with her girls but they won’t even answer her calls.

When Pumpkin learned about the shower from Mama June’s sister, Doe Doe, she was shocked. Justin’s mom had sent them invites via social media and Pumpkin was stunned. She refused to go but June told no one as she had a trick up her sleeve. When Doe Doe arrived at the shower, Justin’s family immediately went into fan mode. His uncle had even been a fan since the Toddlers & Tiaras days so they couldn’t wait to meet the girls. Fans on Twitter immediately picked up on this vibe and had to comment. “Justin family sounds like groupies and gold diggers,” one tweeted.

Another added: “So Justin’s family is a bunch of groupies!!” One viewer noted this: “Well, if his mom and Auntie are such fans of the show…they would already know that the girls are not feeling June.” It was clear that they had high expectations for who was coming and seeing just Doe Doe was not enough. Yet, June did have a surprise up her sleeve.

Mama June said she had one last trick up her sleeve but what was it? When the family started to lose hope that the girls would be there and June had exhausted excuses, one person did pop in. It was none other than Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell who had just had surgery. She drove all of the way down to the shower after having surgery. When Doe Doe called Pumpkin to tell her, she was shocked. More so, she wanted to know how much June had paid Anna to attend.
