Whoopi Goldberg is bursting the bubble on the idea that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were nearly killed in a “catastrophic” car chase that lasted two hours in New York. In fact, the 67-year-old admits she just isn’t buying the dramatic version of the story being told.

Whoopi Goldberg Not Buying Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Car Chase

During today’s episode (Thursday, May 18, 2023) of The View, Whoopi Goldberg wanted to touch base on the car chase that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were allegedly involved in recently. In short, Whoopi wanted it to be known that she wasn’t buying the story their spokesperson was trying to sell about how “catastrophic” this alleged car chase was.

“Their spokesperson called it a near catastrophic car chase. Others said it wasn’t bad, but I think people in New York know if it was possible to have car chases in New York, we’d all make it to the theater on time.”

Whoopi eluded to the fact that the only people who were likely to buy this car chase story were people who had never been in New York as they would have no idea how the flow of traffic works. Continuing to poke holes in the story, Whoopi admits it would’ve been more believable if the car chase took place in Los Angeles where this type of thing would normally happen.

Now The View moderator admits that she wasn’t saying this car chase didn’t happen. In fact, she believes there is a very real chance Prince Harry and his wife Meghan did deal with aggressive and persistent paparazzi. She, however, also believes their spokesperson seriously embellished the details.

Joy Behar echoed Whoopi Goldberg and added that even emergency vehicles tend to have a hard time getting through New York City traffic. Joy added to the conversation: “Sometimes I’m in the city and I hear an ambulance trying to get through and I think, ‘That person is dead.’”

Sunny Hostin pushed back, defended

In defense of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Sunny Hostin points out that it may have been media outlets and tabloids embellishing the details and NOT their spokesperson. Sunny noted that a car chase could have happened without it being a “high-speed car chase.”

She also reminded her co-hosts the whole thing was a sensitive subject as it was how Harry’s mother died.

Unfortunately for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, there are also tons of videos and photos popping up on Twitter of this alleged car chase that contradict it happening.

Did you hear about the “catastrophic” car chase that some outlets are saying nearly killed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? Do you agree with Whoopi that the dramatic rendition of this car chase is a little hard to believe? Is a two-hour car chase even something that could happen in New York?
