‘Vanderpump Rules’ Execs Put Halt On Season 11 Amid Scandavol Fallout
Vanderpump Rules executives have decided to press pause and wait for the dust to settle following the “Scandoval” fallout until they can see a little more clearly about what to do next.
Vanderpump Rules executives pump the breaks
With Season 10 coming to an end, the time has come for the Bravo cast members to renegotiate their contracts for Season 11. The explosive amount of drama from the “Scandoval” fallout, however, has left the Vanderpump Rules bosses drained. So, they’ve decided to push pause on things and allow a moment for everyone to collect their thoughts.
Speaking to Variety, executive producer Alex Baskin explains that the entire Vanderpump Rules cast is in desperate need of some time away from the cameras following the heated and explosive reunion (which was filmed about two months ago).
When the drama from “Scandoval” reached its peak, Alex Baskin affirms that production scrambled to get cameras on everyone as quickly as possible. Now, however, production thinks everyone needs to be chilled and tabled for a bit so the dust can settle.
Alex Baskin teases new info about Tom Sandoval’s affair
Alex Baskin also teased Vanderpump Rules fans that they don’t know everything there is to know about the affair just yet. He claims there is “new information” yet to be told. Information that will come out during the reunion. And, the information may cause some of the cast members to think twice about returning for a new season.
So, the executives of the Bravo series simply want the cast members to watch the reunion and digest everything before contract negotiations begin.
“The reunion is not just a recap of what you know, and it’s not just an intense version of the emotions. I will put it this way: There are revelations, and they are revelations that not all of them know now. So we need a little space.”
In an effort to thrawt the “mob mentality” of the cast, Andy Cohen conducted one-on-one interviews with the Vanderpump cast during the reunion. These one-on-one interviews allowed Leviss, Madix, and Sandoval to answer difficult questions honestly without concern for immediate backlash.
Alex Baskin claims there’s new information hidden in the answers to these questions. And, he suspects he may cause some cast members to think differently about returning for a new season.
He continued to explain: “I think everyone’s wrapping their heads around what that might mean. No one’s saying no, I’ll say that — but I think it’s hard for anybody to say yes right now, because they feel like they haven’t gotten any reprieve.”
