‘Swamp People’ Pickle Wheat Says ‘Nothing Wasted’ While Hunting
Sitting down for an exclusive interview, Pickle Wheat of The HISTORY Channel’s Swamp People opens up about gator hunting and reassures fans that not one inch of the swamp beast is wasted while hunting. What did Pickle Wheat have to say during this interview about gator hunting? Keep reading for the scoop.
Swamp People: Pickle Wheat assures gators aren’t wasted
As fans of Swamp People know, the HISTORY Channel series tells the story of individuals who risk both their lives and their limbs while hunting and capturing alligators and dragging them back to their boats. For gator hunters like Pickle Wheat, all of the hunting takes place during designated seasons which typically last for a window of about two months.
Legitimate gator hunters are given a set amount of tags for hunting that they have to attach to the gators they capture. The system the state of Louisiana has in place helps put a pin in illegal gator poaching.
Pickle Wheat of Swamp People tells The Sun exclusively that there isn’t one inch of the gators they capture that goes to waste. Turns out, they are able to piece out and sell every single inch of these swamp beasts. Presently, Alligator meat is fairly expensive costing around $100 for just three months. So, The Sun reports that many prefer to buy whole alligators as opposed to weighed-out chunks of meat to save some cash.
Alligator skin also fetches a pretty penny as it is used to craft all sorts of things including handbags and belts. Turns out, alligator skin worth the most money comes from farm-raised gators, and wild gators in the swamp tend to have damaged skin that doesn’t produce top-dollar products.
Pickle Wheat continues to explain to The Sun: “The farmed ones have perfect hides and skins, the ones we’re catching naturally, but the skins are quite valuable as well.”
HISTORY Channel star is hustling for extra cash
As fans of Swamp People know, Season 14 just aired its Season Finale last month and there hasn’t been any news as to whether the series will be renewed for Season 15 just yet. So, fans can only assume Pickle Wheat may have a bit of downtime in between filming right now. The Swamp People star just took to her Instagram recently to reveal she had embarked on a new hustle for some extra cash. Right now, fans of Swamp People could purchase a Cameo from Pickle Wheat.
According to her Cameo profile, she is charging $70 for a personal video and $540 for a business video. In the comments, her followers were thrilled by her announcement. Though, some admitted the price for the video was a little high for them to get on board with buying one.
