‘Yellowstone’ Creator’s New Series ‘Special Ops: Lioness’ Is Coming Soon: Details
There has been a lot of buzz going around Taylor Sheridan’s new series Special Ops: Lioness. This new Paramount+ series boasts some big stars like Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldaña, and Morgan Freeman. However, this is a unique story with a lot of suspense and action that promises to entertain fans.
What is this new series all about?
Taylor Sheridan Co-Created Paramount+ Series With Mystery 101 Alum Jill Wagner
Yellowstone fans may be waiting for Taylor Sheridan to write the final series episodes, and perhaps mend fences with Kevin Costner. However, these same fans who love this series may want to check out Special Ops: Lioness. Here is a series that promises great storytelling and a lot of action. What is it all about?
According to Vanity Fair, this series is based on the real-life CIA program called Lioness. Women infiltrate terrorist organizations by getting close to family members of their top targets.
Nicole Kidman succinctly explained why this show is different. “There’s power in having a female identity. They have access in a different way than a lot of men who are working undercover do.”
This means that one day, the women on this team wear combat gear while doing their drills and military duties. Then, at night, they are out clubbing in heels and tight clothes.
Yet, in no way is this series about women being better than men. Saldaña explained, “Not a single episode talks about women versus men and how women do it better.” Men and women work together on a common goal. They want to stop terrorist organizations.
Who Stars In Special Ops: Lioness?
Besides Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman, who else stars in this new Paramount+ series? Other stars include Laysla De Oliveira, Stephanie Nur, Jill Wagner, Thad Luckinbill, Dave Annable, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, and Michael Kelly.
Taylor Sheridan Wrote Lioness Character Specifically With Zoe Saldaña In Mind
Although Zoe Saldaña has starred in a cornucopia of blockbusters like Guardians Of The Galaxy, and Avatar, she didn’t believe it when Taylor Sheridan called her to star in his new series Special Ops: Lioness.
He wanted to share the pilot script with her with the intention of her portraying the character Joe. Despite trepidation, she took on the role and kept pinching herself. She was part of something “great.”
#Lioness is the newest saga in the Sheridan-verse: a drama focused on women who commit themselves to the protection of others—but can also be ferociously deadly.
