Al Roker takes his “last walk”

The Today Show co-host took his “last walk” before his surgery. Al Roker talked about his last appearance on the NBC morning show so fans would know not to expect him back for some time. It could take him several weeks to recover. Al went on a walk on Saturday, May 6.

He enjoyed the mild weather in New York City. The weatherman brought his fans on a walk with him. He announced that he would be away from Today. He will get some rest after his knee replacement surgery.

On Saturday, Al Roker took to Instagram to share the news. He announced that Monday was his last day on the Today Show. He explained the procedure, which he called “a replacement of a replacement.” It’s a reconstructive surgery after having his first knee replacement.

“I’m a little less than three days away from getting this left knee replaced,” Al Roker said in his video. “This is probably my last walk of any significance before the knee, but it was such a gorgeous day, I had to get out and enjoy it. Anyway, I hope you’re having a great weekend, see you Monday and then I’m going to be off for a little while to take care of the knee.”

He admitted that he’s been “limping” lately. However, he couldn’t help himself and wanted to take a walk. As fans know, Al Roker enjoys walking around New York City. He often films himself taking his significant walks on Instagram.

Back in September, he opened up about getting knee replacement surgery. Unfortunately, that was pushed back after he was hospitalized in November 2022. He had multiple blood clots in his lungs and legs. Al Roker has successfully recovered from that grueling life-saving surgery.
