Mama June Shannon is giving a prediction for her youngest daughter’s relationship. Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson has been with her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell for over two years. Though she has been in and out of her children’s lives, Mama June never has a problem giving her opinion. When she found out that Pumpkin was pregnant for the third time, she was visibly shocked. This was understandable as Pumpkin’s son, Bentley was only a handful of months old. However, Pumpkin went on to blame June for the pregnancy saying that she brought Covid into their home. Therefore, it messed with her birth control therefore the twins were conceived. Now, June is opening up on her youngest daughter, Honey Boo Boo’s romance with Dralin Carswell.

The two have been together since right before HBB turned sixteen. They met through friends and started to talk all of the time. However, the rule was that Alana could not date until she was sixteen. As a surprise, Pumpkin invited Dralin to Alana’s sixteenth birthday party and he came with gifts. Since then, they have been inseparable, with him picking her up for school in the premiere of Family Crisis. Plus, he was there for photos as she headed off to her senior prom. So, does Mama June think this will last?

She opened up to People about her thoughts on the romance. “She is a teenager. She’s supposed to have a boyfriend. But people don’t think that’s … for Alana. She’s not that little girl anymore,” the mother of four noted. She continued to say that if Alana “chooses to be with him for the rest of her life, then that’s fine. If not, then hey, it was her teenage fling.” Her husband, Justin Stroud even added that he knows that Dralin loves Alana but, being young, they are going to make mistakes.

Questionable Romance

When Dralin Carswell and Honey Boo Boo first started dating, there were a lot of concerns regarding their age. She was barely sixteen and he was twenty/twenty-one. At the time, Mama June was more concerned that he had stability and could hold on to a job. Then, it came out that he had been arrested a few years prior for being intimate with a fifteen-year-old when he was eighteen. Most recently, he got in trouble with the law again but Honey Boo Boo and Pumpkin defended him in a filthy tirade. It seems that the family will support the romance as long as HBB is happy.
