As TV Shows Ace reported, Jessa decided to share a new video of her husband, Ben, and their youngest child, Fern, who will be two in July. The mother of four walked down the hall to find her husband and daughter sitting on the edge of the bed reading a book together. They snuggled up and shared a special moment together.
Later, Ben tucked Fern into bed and kissed her. When she requested that he kiss her baby dolls too, he happily obliged. This video seemed to melt Jessa’s heart, and it did the same for many of her friends, family, and Instagram followers.
However, elsewhere, this video was not received so positively.
Is Ben Seewald uninvolved in his kids’ lives?
On Reddit, Duggar fans and critics are discussing Jessa Seewald’s new post. They feel that her recording and making an entire post about Ben reading to the daughter is a sign that he doesn’t typically do this kind of thing. Some feel that he might be an uninvolved dad if she felt the need to celebrate this moment. After all, if he read to his kids every day, she wouldn’t have been surprised to see this happening. Several fans think the bar is too low for Ben. Others agree that this is very low-effort parenting involvement.
One Reddit user said, “Oh look. A father doing fatherly actions. Neat.”
Someone else said that Ben was “doing the bare minimum for the children he willingly helped to bring into the world.”
Yet another chimed in and commented, “My husband does this with our children literally every single night. It’s normal, not noteworthy.”
