Former Bachelorette Hannah Brown is opening up about a recent medical diagnosis. What is going on and how does her boyfriend Adam Woolard support her? Keeping reading to get all those answers.
Hannah Brown talks about medical diagnosis
Bachelor Nation shared what the DWTS champ Hannah Brown had to say about her recent medical diagnosis. Hannah shared that she recently received an ADHD diagnosis from her physician. She intends to be more open about the diagnosis in hopes of helping others. Like many other women, Hannah was diagnosed later in life.
Fans did question her about the medication she is taking for ADHD which she declined to disclose. Hannah revealed feeling hesitant to share what meds she is taking since she is not a medical professional. Instead, she is encouraging her followers to reach out to their own physicians and do their own research on treatment options that are available.
Hannah does think talking about ADHD can help others. She said, “I think it’s great to talk about, though, because it can feel really isolating sometimes when you’re like, ‘Why can’t I get any of this done and why can’t I form sentences?’ You feel dumb or lazy and it’s not that, we just have to figure out ways to set up systems for ourselves. For me, I have notes everywhere on my phone. I could probably be a little more organized but that is really hard for me, so to-do lists are really important to me.”
How Adam supports her
Hannah also discussed how Adam Woolard has shown up for her. She didn’t even realize it but found out that he had been reading about ADHD and how to be in a relationship with someone who has it. She is also extremely grateful for patient family and friends who support her.
As for how she found out, Hannah revealed her therapist brought it up and she was later diagnosed by a psychiatrist. At first, it bothered her until the doctor showed her the brain scan. Now, she’s thankful to know what is wrong and is learning how to cope with it all.
Hannah said, “All the things that I struggle with, like PTSD, depression, sleep disorders, ADHD — all of those affect each other. So I have been trying to find a way to balance it all. Finding a doctor and therapist for medical advice has been so important. I don’t want to be a person you go to for medical advice, but I will share what’s helped me.”
Hannah continues to be a light for many and shares her life experiences openly and honestly. Fans appreciate this side of her and it truly helps many cope with their own struggles.
