‘My 600-Lb Life’ David Nelson Desperate To Find Birth Mother
My 600-Lb Life star David Nelson seems to be in a much healthier headspace these days. During his episode, fans really seemed to feel for the Idaho Falls native.
His backstory was heartbreaking and fans just desperately wanted him to have a happy ending. He didn’t receive bariatric surgery during the course of his episode, but David still seemed determined to make a change.
David Nelson still has a very long way ago, but he’s positive that dealing with a difficult chapter of his past could help. He wants to find his birth mother and is enlisting the public’s help to find her.
Season 10’s David Nelson shares an emotional plea with fans
My 600-Lb Life fans often love hearing news and updates about their favorite guests. Many former guests keep active social media profiles and let fans see their progress.
Although Season 10’s David Nelson didn’t experience drastic weight loss during his time on the show, he did learn more about dealing with his inner demons. During his episode, David explained that he suffered horrific child abuse during his time in the foster care system.
Now, he’s on a mission to find his birth mother.
“So I am throwing out a Hail Mary. I’m interested in finding my birth mother. She was 13 when she had me in Carmichael, California so she should be around the age of 44-45,” David started his Facebook post. “Her name was Tonya Anderson. I’m not sure on the spelling of her name. But anyways, I know this is a long shot but hey, all my friends help me out. Share if you want. Thank you all, I love you people.”
Immediately, David’s followers started offering to share the post. More than anything, fans just wanted to make David’s wish come true.
Several of David’s followers suggested that he try DNA testing websites. There have been countless stories of others connecting with long-lost family members this way.
My 600-Lb Life fans hope that the search is fruitful
In the comments, David revealed that he did find a distant cousin from 23 and Me. Sadly, he didn’t find any information about his birth mother. Genetic testing companies like 23 and Me can only help people search for family members if the other family members happened to upload their information too.
Although David hasn’t found much yet, his fans remain hopeful that he will find answers soon.
The TLC star also revealed that reaching out to the adoption agency probably wouldn’t help, since he had a closed adoption.
With any luck, David Nelson’s fans may actually help him find his birth mother. Be sure to check back soon for more news and updates on the situation.
