Danielle Busby Shines Bright Spotlight On Hazel: ‘So Proud’
Danielle Busby of TLC’s OutDaughtered took to Instagram to shine a bright spotlight on fan-favorite, Hazel, this weekend. As fans of the TLC series know, the Busby quints just recently turned eight. Fans of the reality TV family thought it was a bit strange that Danielle had only taken to Instagram to wish one of the girls happy birthday while seemingly snubbing the others. It, however, has now become clear she is pacing herself and dedicating a birthday tribute to each of the quints as an individual.
The TLC parents are no stranger to criticism
Unfortunately, Adam and Danielle Busby never really seem to be able to appease critical fans. Danielle has been criticized for not acknowledging all of the girls on their shared birthday. She, however, also gets criticized for grouping the girls together and not treating them as individuals (such as dressing them in matching outfits). So, in trying to appease the criticism and treating them as individuals, fans just found something else to complain about.
Danielle Busby shines a spotlight on Hazel
Today, Danielle Busby decided to pay tribute to Hazel for her 8th birthday. The TLC mother included a slideshow of photos that fans would likely find familiar as they’ve been posted on her (and/or Adam’s) Instagram profiles over the years.
Danielle penned in her touching tribute: “You, my little one, are an extra special kinda soul. You are so loving, helpful, silly and there isn’t one person that comes around you that doesn’t fall in love with you. I’m so proud of all the obstacles you have over come ever since you were born at just 2lbs.”
You bring such a smile to our hearts and I pray your serving character never changes. I love how everything in your world is seen as beautifully made and there is so much wonder in your eyes. I LOVE YOU BIG my little one! Keep bringing joy into this world

OutDaughtered fans react to the Hazel tribute
Unsurprisingly, Uncle Dale Mills was the first to pour into the comment section wishing his ride or die a very special day. He ended his comment with the hashtag “Dazel.” Many other fans left comments praising Danielle for taking this individual approach to the girls’ birthday this year. Here’s what some fans had to say:
- “Love your sweet individual testimonies of each child. Love to learn about their developing personalities.”
- “Why do you celebrate them on different days? I understand wanting them to have their own individual Parties but part of being a multiple is celebrating the day they all were born, together. On their actual birth date because that’s what makes multiple’s that much more special”
- “Happy Birthday, Hazel! What a sweet little girl you are. Keep on shining”
Unfortunately for Danielle, there was both love and hate in the comments of her post. Fans, however, defended her noting the quints did celebrate together. She was just taking the time to do individual birthday tributes on her profile.
