Taylor Swift & Joe’s Relationship Soured When Pandemic Ended?
Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s relationship soured when the pandemic ended. Over the course of six years, their romance took place away from the scrutiny of her fans and the public eye. The former couple realized their personality differences. Keep on reading to learn more.
Career differences surfaced after the pandemic
On Saturday, April 8, news broke that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn ended their relationship after six years together. The two met when she hit a career low. At the time, the general public was sick of Taylor Swift mania after the release of her first pop album, 1989. She also reignited her feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
During that time, Joe became her safety net. The singer took a break from the public eye and focused on their romance. This led her to create her following album, Reputation. He inspired some of the songs on her following pop album, Lover. Their relationship improved during the pandemic, especially since they were used to being so private.
Taylor Swift and Joe co-wrote songs on her surprise pandemic album, Folklore. They also collaborated on the follow-up, Evermore. However, things took a turn as the pandemic ended. When Joe first dated Taylor, she was trying to win back the general public as he enjoyed his newfound fame.
Joe went through some career misses as her fame rose again. She is in the midst of her highly anticipated Eras Tour. Her career overshadowed her former boyfriend, an insider told DailyMail.com. Even though Joe landed roles over the years, his acting career came to a halt.
“The bottom line for the difficulties in their relationship was that Taylor’s career took priority over Joe’s — which can be awkward for a couple when it’s not balanced,” the source told DailyMail.com. “This drove them apart and ultimately, they both realized they were not on the same page anymore.”
Taylor Swift & Joe Alwyn face differences
Joe Alwyn hoped dating the biggest pop star in the world would help him become a leading man. Taylor Swift also had her eye on becoming the next Hollywood star to get an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards). It’s even harder for Joe to get his footing in Hollywood. Their relationship was easier when they were in lockdown and making music together.
“It was easier during the pandemic when it was just the two of them, but once things returned to normal, Taylor Swift the superstar emerged, and their differences were more apparent,” the source continued. “They really made a go of it and tried everything they could but ultimately were unable to save the relationship.”
Taylor Swift is on a high from the success of her Midnights album and Eras Tour. However, their split was “not dramatic.” On Saturday, ET Online confirmed their romance just “run its course.” The two don’t harbor any bad blood with one another. Yet, it could provide some great material for her next album.
