‘Below Deck’: Captain Lee Rosbach Says Bravo Forced Him Out
Below Deck OG star Captain Lee Rosbach says Bravo forced him out of the show. He shared the shocking news in a recent interview. This came amid the rumors that Captain Lee retired from the yachting industry. Keep on reading to learn more.
Not filming Below Deck Season 11
Earlier this year, production started for Below Deck Season 11. Captain Kerry Titheradge from the spinoff series Below Deck Adventure will be Captain Lee Rosbach’s replacement this season. It’s unclear who else has been axed from the show. Former boatswain Eddie Lucas confirmed in the past that he’s not returning to the show.
Chef Rachel Hargrove ended her relationship with Bravo. She doesn’t want to support the network. As for Captain Lee Rosbach, he says he “was not invited back” for Below Deck Season 11 after his health issues. The 73-year-old sat down for an exclusive interview with The Sun Sentinel about his future on the show. Captain Lee had to quit Season 10 temporarily for “health issues” and Captain Sandy Yawn filled in for him.
From there, questions loomed about Captain Lee Rosbach’s role on the show. He denied the retirement rumors on his Twitter page. It was brought up again when Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen celebrated Captain Lee’s tenth anniversary on the show. It seemed to be a send-off for the long-time captain.

“I did not quit. I did not retire,” Captain Lee Rosbach told The Sun Sentinel. “I was just not invited back. I guess I can see their point of view. They really couldn’t get a straight answer from anyone on how my health was.”
Per Monsters & Critics, Captain Lee is still under contract with Bravo. They haven’t fired him. He would love to return to the series, in some form. That idea hasn’t been off the table for the veteran.
Captain Lee Rosbach on returning
Captain Lee Rosbach teased that he has other projects in the works with Bravo. However, he didn’t share any details on what that could entail. It sounds like Captain Lee still has a good relationship with Bravo. He admitted they came up with ideas on having him return in some form.
“We came to an agreement, and I’m going to be doing some things in the next year,” Captain Lee Rosbach teased. “Then Season 12? I imagine they are going to see what happens with Season 11, with somebody new trying to take over for me, see how they do.”

If it’s too “expensive” for them to have him return, they’ll see what else they can do. On the flip side, if the ratings for Season 11 of Below Deck don’t do well, Captain Lee Rosbach would be open to returning. Fans have already vowed to boycott the new season.
