After wrapping up filming My 600-Lb. Life with TLC, it appears as if Patrick Macon has received a devastating diagnosis. What was he diagnosed with? Keep reading for the details.

My 600-Lb. Life: Meet Patrick

Patrick Macon is the latest addition to the My 600-Lb. Life cast list and fans aren’t really sure if they like him or not. Unfortunately, Patrick just didn’t seem that serious about losing weight and was constantly making excuses every time he failed to meet Dr. Now’s expectations. At one point in time, Patrick even cussed Dr. Now out to the camera noting that he was expecting more than a “f*cking book and piece of paper.”

By the end of the episode, Patrick yo-yoed all over the place with losing and gaining weight. Ultimately, he came in three pounds short. But, Dr. Now shockingly decided to make an exception saying it was “close enough” and approved him for weight loss surgery anyway.

Dr. Now admitted there were struggles with the surgery because of a previous hernia repair. But, he was able to get in there and make it happen.

2023 Update: Patrick Macon Now

Sadly, both Patrick and his wife Amanda’s Facebook profiles confirm he received a devastating diagnosis about a month ago. Per both of their profiles, he was diagnosed with gallbladder and bile duct cancer in February. Amanda penned in her post, “You are not alone babe! You have an army behind you! We love you, Patrick Macon.”

The post included a photo raising awareness for gallbladder and bile duct cancer. While Patrick also shared a similar photo on his profile, he did not say anything about the diagnosis. Now, it is unclear exactly when he was diagnosed with cancer. But, the diagnosis definitely happened after filming concluded as it was not mentioned on the show.

With his profile locked down, fans aren’t able to see an updated photo of how he has progressed with his weight loss progress. Moreover, fans fear he may use his cancer diagnosis as an excuse for any weight gain as he previously used having the flu as a similar excuse on the show.
