‘DWTS’: Peta Murgatroyd’s Son Is Ecstatic To Be A Big Brother
Peta Murgatroyd’s due date keeps inching closer — and her older son Shai can’t wait to be a big brother.
Right now, Shai is six years old and his baby sibling will arrive this June. That means the age difference between Shai and baby Chmerkovskiy will be the same as the age difference between Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy. Could this be another famous duo in the making?
Either way, this is an incredibly exciting chapter for the family to explore. Peta and Maks have dreamed of having another little one in the house for years. Fans are delighted that they’re finally getting their wish.
Peta Murgatroyd discusses explaining pregnancy to her son
In a recent interview with The Sun, Peta opened up about how excited they are to welcome home their rainbow baby. After three miscarriages, the Chmerkovskiy family is very ready to welcome home this little one. And Shai is so excited to have a baby sibling.
“He is asking every day when it’s gonna pop out of my belly button. You know, he’s just the cutest,” Peta told The Sun.
“[Shai’s] been wanting this for so long and also along the road of the struggles, you know, in the past two years, he has heard me say to him before, ‘Mommy’s pregnant,’ and then I’m not,” the professional dancer continued. “I do feel like there was definitely letdowns for him along the way. ‘Oh, the egg broke,’ I would say. I would try to cover [the miscarriages] up like that, but, yeah, he’s really excited.”
It seems that the family did find out the new baby’s gender, but they are keeping that information to themselves for now.
Peta is due in June, so her fans and followers will find out more this summer.
What does the plan for DWTS Season 32 look like for the family?
If everything goes according to plan, Peta Murgatroyd fully plans on returning to Dancing With The Stars this fall.
“It’s gonna be like around the eight- or nine-week mark this time [after giving birth]. So yeah, I’m totally willing,” she told The Sun. She also revealed that her sister-in-law Jenna Johnson is also fully expected to make her grand return this fall. Jenna gave birth to a son in January.
Right now, Peta’s husband Maks Chmerkovskiy doesn’t appear to have any plans to return to the ballroom in any capacity. But Peta has said in other interviews that she would love to see him take over Len Goodman’s empty judge’s seat.
