‘The View’ Joy Behar, 80, Exhibits Concerning Behavior

Joy Behar shares an issue with her co-hosts

On Friday’s broadcast of The View, Joy Behar filled in for Whoopi Goldberg as moderator as she normally does. The panel hosted a “Touchdown Tailgate” to celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl Sunday. The Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Kansas City Chiefs. People have already placed their bets on who they want to win.

During the live show, Joy Behar wore an olive green Eagles shirt. The distressed shirt looked like it was a shirt for the band rather than the football team. During the show, chef Jeff Mauro shared his recipe for a carnitas sandwich. Joy joked that they “can’t just sit here stuffing our faces all morning.”

She then mentioned the new Netflix documentary, Pamela: A Love Story. Joy Behar tried one of the sandwiches that were on the table. She had trouble reading the teleprompter as her eyes watered and she stumbled over her words. Joy stopped to clear her throat. She explained what happened to her.

“Something’s hot in that food,” Joy exclaimed to the panel.

They just laughed in response. Joy Behar was able to recover from her issue. She moved on with talking about the rest of the story. However, this isn’t the first time that the comedian has exhibited concerning behavior. Back in September 2022, fans were concerned about her constant coughing.

The View fans worried about 80-year-old co-host

Joy Behar had a similar coughing attack last year. It started at the beginning of the broadcast when the panel talked about the hot topics of the day. Joy had a hard time expressing her thoughts. She stumbled over her words and coughed in the background.

Most of The View fans were distracted by her coughing. Some of them took to Twitter to react. Fans begged someone behind the scenes to get Joy some help or at least a glass of water. Others were turned off by her constant hacking and suggested that she stay home from the show.

“Can someone PLEASE give Joy a cough drop and some water? The coughing and throat clearing is disgusting!” one fan wrote.

Joy Behar has expressed her future on The View. She addressed the ageist critics who want her to leave the show. Earlier this week, Joy exclaimed that she was not going anywhere. She has no intentions of retiring despite her age.
