LPBW fans express their fears of possible asphyxiation.

On Reddit, fans are talking about Zach and Tori’s use of the Doona 2-in-1 infant car seat and stroller. It works like a typical infant car seat while in the car. But instead of transferring the car seat to a stroller, you can simply pop the wheels out from the bottom of the car seat and begin using it as a stroller. It’s pretty popular right now due to its convenience. But there are risks.

One fan explained:

“It’s actually a really unsafe stroller to use for anything other than very short time periods because the recline is not adequate for an infant and can cause positional asphyxiation. It’s banned in Canada for this reason.”

Another LPBW viewer added that it’s also banned in Australia. In the U.S. in 2015, 48% of car seat deaths in children under the age of two were due to asphyxiation, according to The Journal of PediatricsToday’s Parent notes that this can happen due to babies’ sleeping positions in their car seats. Because infants aren’t sleeping flat on their backs, their chins may rest against their chests, blocking their airways.

Hopefully, Zach and Tori will take their fans’ advice and only use the car seat in the car. LPBW fans are worried that something terrible could happen to Josiah otherwise.
