She grew up creating and performing in her own plays with Debbie Reynolds as a role model she looked up to. While working as a waitress to support herself, she auditioned for roles in commercials, television shows, and movies. Her very first stepping stone that launched her career was the opportunity to tap dance with Gene Kelly.
