Jay Leno Smashed In Motorcycle Accident Amid Series Cancelation
Former Tonight Show alum, Jay Leno, just had another accident. This was a mere couple of months after he suffered serious burns fixing his vintage car that started a fire. What happened to the comedian this time? Moreover, his string of bad luck continues with his show cancelation.
We have all of the details right here.
Jay Leno Suffers Broken Bones In New Accident
Jay Leno cannot catch a break. After suffering serious burns to his face and neck in November, he now suffered several broken bones last week. The comedian spoke to John Katsilometes of the Las Vegas Review-Journal to share his latest news.
First, Leno was asked, “How are you doing, especially after the accident?”
The comedian chirped, “It’s so funny you should say that.” He continued, “That was the first accident. OK? Then just last week, I got knocked off my motorcycle. So I’ve got a broken collarbone. I’ve got two broken ribs. I’ve got two cracked kneecaps.”
On January 17, Leno was testing out a 1940 Indian motorcycle. Moreover, “he noticed the scent of leaking gas.”
So I turned down a side street and cut through a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it, So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. It just clothesline me and, boom, knocked me off the bike.”
The bike kept going, and you know how that works out.
This was not the only gas-related accident that Leno has recently experienced. Back in November, Leno was under one of his vintage cars, a 1907 White Stream car. His goal was to unclog it. Therefore, he blew some air through the line, got gas on his face, and then the pilot light started his face on fire. He was hospitalized for nine days. He suffered second-degree burns on his face and neck.
Leno explained that he did not make a big deal about this because he got so much publicity with that first injury. He even jokingly compared it to Harrison Ford’s piloting snafus.
You know, after getting burned up, you get that one for free. After that, you’re Harrison Ford, crashing airplanes. You just want to keep your head down.
Former Tonight Show Host Still Working Las Vegas Residency
Despite his recent accident, Jay Leno is not shying away from his work. He revealed that despite this accident, he is still going to do his Las Vegas residency. Despite the numerous broken bones, he declared, “I’m OK, I’m working. I’m working this weekend.”
He is working at the Encore Theatre at the Winn. This is a good thing he has a side hustle, as his series, Jay’s Garage, is now over.
