Tammy Slaton Infuriates Fans Over Therapist Session, Why?
When fans learned 1000-Lb. Sisters would be back for another season, they sincerely hoped Tammy Slaton would turn over a new leaf. They felt that the first three seasons started to get a bit repetitive. Tammy would get sick, promise to change her ways, and then relapse. After the TLC star almost died several times in the season premiere, it’s become clear she’s at a turning point. She absolutely has to make long-lasting lifestyle changes.
This year, it does seem like Tammy is doing things a bit differently. She voluntarily checked herself into rehab and is even regularly seeing a therapist. However, viewers weren’t thrilled with the way Tammy’s therapy session in this week’s episode went down.
Fans rage as Tammy Slaton gives her therapist an attitude
It’s not at all uncommon for bariatric surgery candidates to also receive therapy. My 600-Lb. Life fans have seen many guests attend therapy sessions to tackle mental health issues before surgery. If they don’t work on their mental health issues, many will continue their food addiction and gain the weight back after surgery. 1000-Lb. Sisters fans know that Tammy Slaton often uses food as a coping mechanism, so it makes sense that she would attend therapy as well.
Throughout three seasons of My 600-Lb. Life, fans have seen Tammy shut down and close herself off when she is uncomfortable. And sadly, it seems like that happened during the therapy session during the newest episode.
Whenever the therapist asked Tammy a difficult question about her past, Tammy would bluntly reply, “I don’t want to talk about it.” If the therapist pressed the TLC start and tried to coax information out of her, Tammy gave her a rude attitude and said she wouldn’t talk about it.
Many viewers realize that undergoing a therapy session with a camera crew present could be extremely difficult. However, many fans also felt frustrated that Tammy wasn’t trying harder.
“Tammy claims she’s changed but she still has the same combative behavior with therapists. So nothing’s changed,” one Twitter user wrote.
